Lucifer has been my loyal companion for the past 15 years. He’s not just a pet—he’s my emotional support, my cuddle bug at night, and the reason I wake up each day. After losing my grandma Bertha, who was the heart of our family and my favorite person in this world, knowing Lucifer needs me has been my motivation to keep going. Watching him suffer and lose interest in eating and drinking has been heartbreaking. I’ve tried everything I can, but nothing has worked this time. Even force-feeding him water with an oral syringe hasn’t helped, and I know he needs real medical help to get better.

Right now, I can’t afford the emergency vet visit fee, which is required just to have him examined. That doesn’t even include the cost of the tests and treatments he’ll need to find out what’s wrong and help him recover. My family is also struggling—my parents are dealing with their own health issues, and I recently moved into my aunt’s house as she begins her battle against cancer. I’m doing my best to keep it together. I don’t like asking for help and I try not to put my problems on others, but this is different. Time is an issue, and I can’t let my pride keep my baby from getting the help he needs.

So I’m putting this message out there, hoping it finds enough kind people who understand the heartache of not being able to save a part of your family. I can’t do this alone. All the money raised will go directly to Lucifer’s emergency care, tests, and whatever treatment the vet recommends so I can bring him home healthy.
