Help Lucie the Beagle Recover from a House Explosion

In a miraculous turn of events, Lucie, a sweet and resilient beagle from Lake View, New York, survived a devastating house explosion on May 12, 2025.

Tragically, Lucie’s beloved dog mom, Joene Pease, lost her life in the explosion. Her dad, John, remains in critical condition in the ICU. With her family torn apart and her home destroyed, Lucie now faces a long and difficult recovery — both physically and emotionally.

Lucie suffered injuries in the explosion and needed immediate veterinary care, including treatment for burns, broken bones, and oxygen therapy. She will require ongoing medical support, rehabilitation, and lots of gentle care to heal.

Lucie will now be lovingly cared for by a family friend in North Buffalo, who is doing everything they can to make sure Lucie is safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love as she recovers. But the cost of Lucie's veterinary bills and continued care is overwhelming. Funds will be used to cover expenses and help Lucie continue living the good life that she deserves.
