As you may know, as Lucia was finishing up her PreK4 year at BBCH, she was diagnosed with Leukemia and has been in inpatient treatment since late April. She recently finished her first round of Chemo at Children’s Hospital in DC, and she has now transferred to CHOP in Philadelphia to move forward with the next rounds of treatment there under the care of some wonderful specialists. Her moms are there with her, and her two older (Lafayette) siblings will remain in DC with other family but plan to go back and forth throughout the summer.

This is going to be such a long and difficult road for their family, so this is one way we can ease the financial burden of running two households (on top of all the mounting medical, housing, travel, and other related expenses) during this impossibly hard time. Thank you so much for your support!
