Please find it in your hearts to help Lucca and her incredible beautiful daughter Atlantis. They have been forced to be separated.  They are only at the beginning of a very heartbreaking separation. 

My best friend, my soul sister Lucca, has recently begun the hardest journey of her life — both physically and emotionally.

Lucca has been diagnosed with a rare blood cancer and has already started her first round of chemotherapy. She will need at least one more round, followed by a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, which will require her to be fully isolated in the hospital for a minimum of six weeks.

Alongside this, Lucca has had to leave her home, as it is no longer suitable for her to return to during or after treatment. Most heartbreakingly, she has been separated from her beautiful 18-month-old daughter, Atlantis, who is now living with Lucca’s parents around two hours away. Being apart from her child during such an overwhelming time has taken an enormous emotional toll.

During treatment, visitors are kept to an absolute minimum. While her parents are doing an incredible job caring for Atlantis and supporting Lucca in every way possible, much of this physical battle Lucca is facing alone — navigating hospital isolation, emergency housing, and the planning of a long and exhausting fight against this devastating disease.

As part of her treatment, Lucca has been prescribed Venclyxto (venetoclax) — a targeted cancer medication used to treat certain blood cancers. It works by blocking a protein that allows cancer cells to survive, helping those cells die and giving Lucca a real chance at recovery. Unfortunately, this medication is costly, costing up to £1100.00 for28 days of tablets and is not covered. For her type of cancer.

This fundraiser has been set up to help cover:

   •   The cost of Venclyxto (venetoclax)

   •   Essential travel expenses so the family can support Lucca during treatment

   •   Financial support for the loved ones caring for her daughter while she fights for her health and the expense of setting up a new home, for herself and her daughter. Which will be totally unfurnished. This will happen after stem cell/bone marrow treatment.
