Lucas is our two-year-old Beagle Doberman, mix and he’s been a joyful, energetic part of our family since we brought him home to be a companion for our other dog, Mingo. Mingo was a Covid baby and needed a brother to keep him active and happy, and Lucas filled that role perfectly. Their bond has brought so much happiness and activity to our home, and we can’t imagine our lives without them together.

On December 21st, Lucas was hit by a car, and his right paw was seriously injured with a torn ligament. The injury has made it difficult for him to walk and play like he used to. The veterinarians have recommended surgery to insert metal plates in his paw, which will give him the stability he needs to stand, walk, and hopefully return to his active, playful life. The recovery process will also require follow-up care and support to ensure he heals properly.
