Yes, it's true! WE ARE ADOPTING and we are so excited for you to join us on our journey. We are excited for the Lord to guide us every step of the way, and anticipate His glory being revealed through the entire process.
In case you are just joining us on our journey, let us give you a little background. Tiffany and I (Lucas) have been married for 3 wonderful years. We met while Tiffany was working in donor relations at ACH Child and Family Services. Trying to grow my community, I started volunteering with the Young Professional Group at ACH and had the pleasure of serving at-risk youth in the community beside my future wife. This was just one experience that helped us know we were passionate about adoption and would love any child in our home. It is our belief that just as God has adopted us as His children, we now have the ability to share the same love with our future adopted child.
We have chosen to go through the Gladney Center for Adoption, a local adoption agency that is well known in the Fort Worth community. We chose Gladney because of their commitment and ongoing support to the adoptive family, adoptive child, and birth mothers. We feel Gladney goes above and beyond with making lifetime commitments to support the needs that arise in the adoption process and beyond.
The total cost to adopt via Gladney is $55,000. So far, we have paid $500 for access to the application. The fees are broken down into three payments: $13,750 for the application fee, $27,000 for the matching fee, and $13,750 for the final placement fee.
After a generous gift from my very supportive company, we will need to raise $26,000 to cover the remaining fees. We are humbly asking for donations from family and friends to help us reach this goal. Tiffany had a great idea to create a memory quilt with words of encouragement from all the people who donate to help us expand our family.
With each donation, we ask for words of encouragement for our child. Our wonderful friends, The Legacy Church of Christ Quilters, will assist us in putting the quilt together. The quilt will forever be a way for our child to know and cherish all the wonderful people who helped bring him/her into our lives.
We are SO grateful for the love, prayers, and support you will bless us with along our journey.
