Our sweet boy, Lucas, is just 11 weeks old and has already shown more strength than we could ever imagine.

After three long years of trying to start a family, my husband and I finally succeeded with IVF. Lucas is the piece we never knew we were missing. We never imagined that only weeks after bringing him home, we would be facing one of the scariest battles of our lives.

At just 7 weeks old, Lucas was admitted to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and diagnosed with an esophageal perforation—a rare and serious condition with no clear cause. These past weeks have been heartbreaking as we’ve spent every moment by his side, watching him fight and heal.

While we are endlessly grateful for the incredible doctors and nurses caring for him, the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. Between hospital stays, travel, and medical bills, we’ve lost precious time at home with our son and are facing expenses we weren’t prepared for.
