Lucas is 16, and over the past few years, art has become a big part of his life. He spends much of his time drawing and painting, and also takes art classes at school, which have played an important role in helping him build his skills. Most of what he does comes from his own initiative—just sitting down and working on something because he wants to get better. Art has become something very personal to him, not just a hobby.
Recently, Lucas applied for a scholarship to attend a pre-college art program this summer. Unfortunately, he didn’t receive the scholarship, and as a single-income family, it’s difficult for us to cover the cost on our own. We are doing everything we can to support him, but like many families, we’re feeling the financial strain. Despite this setback, we want to give Lucas every opportunity to pursue his dreams and grow as an artist.
The pre-college program would be an incredible next step for Lucas. It would allow him to experience a structured, college-level environment and be surrounded by other students who are just as passionate about art. We believe this experience could be transformative for him, helping him build confidence and skills for his future. Any support, in any amount, truly helps, and we really appreciate it.
