Hi everyone,

We're writing this today with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit, to ask for your support for some of the kindest, strongest people I know—Lucas and Lauren Ledford.

Just recently, Lucas and Lauren welcomed a beautiful new baby into the world—a moment that should be filled with nothing but love, joy, and the excitement of a new beginning. But alongside the joy of new life, they are facing an overwhelming storm of responsibilities and heartache.

Lucas is the full-time caregiver for his mother, who is currently in hospice battling late-stage cancer. The emotional and physical toll this has taken is immense, as anyone who has walked through this kind of journey knows. Caring for a terminally ill parent is one of the hardest things a person can go through—and Lucas is doing it with such grace, strength, and love.

On top of caring for a newborn and a dying parent, Lucas and Lauren are also managing the financial strain of maintaining three separate properties, including their own home, their mother’s house (which they were getting ready to try and sell but due to circumstances won't be able to do any longer), and the apartment they had moved Lucas's mother Susan into while preparing to sell her home. Between the birth of their beautiful girl and caring for Lucas's mom, both Lucas and Lauren have had to take leave from work. But the bills don’t stop, and the weight of it all is becoming too much to carry alone.

This is where we come in.

I’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on Lucas and Lauren during this impossible time. Every dollar raised will go directly toward living expenses, medical costs, household bills, and the basic needs of both the baby and their mother. No one should have to choose between caring for a loved one in their final days and keeping the lights on.
