I am a close friend of Lucas and Kayla Goodsill. Recently, they lost their 9-month-old daughter, Belle-Ann. Lucas is a hardworking father and husband and a great friend. When Belle-Ann was born, she had some health issues, and Lucas and Kayla learned that she would need special care. Lucas left his job so he could care for Belle-Ann. During that time, as you can imagine, money became tight. Now that Lucas and Kayla have lost Belle-Ann, there will be significant expenses going forward that I would like to help them with. I am going to help them as much as I can, and I am sure there are a lot of folks who would also like to help. Every little bit helps.
Belle-Ann had to have heart surgery and spent the last month or more in the PICU. In a heart-wrenching post on December 16th, her Mommy, Kayla, posted: "9 months old today. Unfortunately, this little girl has spent her last month in the PICU. Heart surgery, a bad infection that led to another surgery. She’s stable at the moment and has good days and bad days. Unfortunately, we have not been able to hold her this month. The PICU team is doing everything they can to get her back home. I could not ask for a better team of nurses and doctors to take care of this little girl. Miracle workers are what they are. She has been a very difficult unique case that has kept many doctors on their toes. We also have a wonderful support system. We appreciate what each and everyone has done for us so we can be with our baby. We are also staying at the Ronald McDonald house which has also been a huge blessing. Unfortunately, we will be separated for Christmas this year. All we ask is that you keep sending prayers her way."
I could never imagine the pain they must have felt not holding their child, spending the holidays without her, being separated - all while still having to work and run a home with 2 other children, EmilyJean and little Lucas, traveling back and forth to see Belle-Ann while staying in a hotel room.
To go home after "the most wonderful time of year" without their child must be devastating to them, and any donation will help with funeral costs, burial expenses, and a headstone, and prevent Lucas and Kayla from needing to return to work too soon by helping with meals and any other everyday expense in their not-so-normal life right now.
Thank you.
