It's the story of a sweet and beautiful dog named Luca, Luca Pooka, Bubba, and Alluka. Initially, I was opposed to creating this GoFundMe and reaching out for help however sometimes the most courageous thing one can do is ask for help. Luca is not just any dog; he is a symbol of loyalty, resilience, and love. He came into this world with a spirit so vibrant that it brightened the lives of everyone he has met, whether it was online or in person (insta: livinlavida_luca_). However, life has not been easy for Luca. He is currently facing a challenge that no living being should endure. Despite it all, he has never lost his gentle nature or his capacity to bring joy to those around him. It's as if he carries a piece of magic within him, reminding us all that kindness and love can conquer even the darkest of times. Luca currently suffered from a substantial injury, T13-L1 myelopathy, spinal compression, and bruising which resulted in paraparesis. It was decided that in order for Luca to get better, he would have a Hemilaminectomy procedure . This is a surgery that aims to enlarge the space in the spinal canal to reduce nerve compression or pressure. Luckily the surgery was a success and the doctors are optimistic about his recovery. However, right now, Luca needs our help. He is fighting a battle that he did not choose, but one he faces with remarkable strength. His medical bills are substantial, and we’re doing everything in our power to ensure he receives the best care imaginable. This includes providing one week of inpatient physical therapy where he was able to receive massage/physical therapy, cold laser therapy, and hydrotherapy and continuing with outpatient treatment.
