Help Sayulita Family Rebuild Post-Hurricane Roslyn

Donation protected

As many of you know, I have dedicated my life to non-profit volunteering and fundraising…but I rarely approach my friends for help. I have donated time, energy and personal funds to people and causes worldwide. For the first time, I am reaching out on behalf of cherished friends—my “family” in Mexico. On Sunday morning, Hurricane Roslyn ripped through our little town of Sayulita, Mexico, and caused massive flooding and mudslides. Many have suffered great losses, including my dear friend Oksana and her beautiful family. EVERY PENNY of this goal will go directly to Oksana's family. ALL additional funds (if any) will go to other local families who have suffered damages and losses in this devastating event. ANY amount is appreciated…$25 goes a long way in Mexico!

Born and raised in Ukraine, Oksana is a resident ex-pat who has embraced the magic and beauty of Mexico (like yours truly). She arrived in Sayulita in 2012 with a passion for herbs and culinary arts. Starting with a tiny herb garden at home, she has built a thriving local business and opened Sana Spices in 2020. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, Oksana and her partner Patas have withstood significant hardship. Now Hurricane Roslyn has brought further struggle. The store was flooded, and they lost most of their inventory, appliances and supplies. Their neighborhood is near the river and experienced massive flooding, causing significant damage and destroying their car. Oksana and Patas are kind, loving, hard-working people who support their community and who are raising two beautiful children, Max (8 yrs.) and Emilia (1 yr.). These people are my family, and I am asking you to help me help them.

It is difficult for me to ask for donations. Please do not feel obligated in any way. I assure you that 100% of all funds will benefit Oksana's family and other local families who are suffering in this difficult time. Thanks for your consideration. XO.

Water was waist-high...this is after the flooding had receded.
