Help loving daughter care for mom

Hello all. The mother of our dear friend Sasi has become ill, and Sasi will be returning home to Thailand to care for her. Although her illness is unrelated to COVID, the global pandemic has made this difficult time even more challenging, including the required time and expenses associated with travel and quarantine.
As many of us know, Sasi is one of the most kind, open-hearted, and selfless people who always has time to lend an ear and a smile whenever needed. The generosity so many of us have experienced firsthand from Sasi is a reflection of the love and generosity given by her parents and entire family.
I was blessed with the opportunity to meet her family and spend two weeks with them in Thailand. Her parents’ home is one of those few places where you feel the warmth and love as soon as you enter. On my trip, I remember arriving at her parents’ house a little after 1am and waiting for us on the dining room table was a beautiful tray of fresh fruit, crackers, and cookies as well as bottled water and juices. This was just the start of the kindness and hospitality her family showed us during our stay. Sasi’s mom anticipated every need we could have possibly imagined and was always two steps ahead of us. From having hot water ready for my morning coffee, to helping us find the best deals at the street markets, to making sure every meal was a perfect and memorable experience. Her thoughtfulness in everything she did for us was genuine and effortless and always came with a smile! Not to mention Sasi’s dad who always made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to explain the historical importance of the sitesduring our travel, while her sister helped us navigate through the cultural differences and, most importantly, was our personal photographer. The whole family dedicated so much of their time to making sure our stay was unforgettable and we experienced everything Thailand had to offer.
I count myself lucky to have known Sasi and her family for so many years. It’s a special thing to have someone come into your life whose character and personality changes your own personality for the better. Sasi, her mom, and her entire family have had this effect on me. It is truly a gift to know such a giving family as Sasi’s family.
We have organized this GoFundMe account in order to help offset the costs of travel and quality care for her mother and are requesting contributions from family and friends to help support Sasi during this trying time.
Thank you for any contribution you may make and for all your positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes for Sasi, her mom and family.
