On July 31st our mom, Lovie Arjona, contracted COVID that doctors say caused a severe ischemic stroke paralyzing her dominant left side. As many of you know, she suffered her first stroke at just 36 years old causing weakness to her right side, which is now the side she depends on. Now at 54 years old she requires 24-hour care for all activities of daily living. She currently is unable to speak, eat, and move without extensive assistance. Our hope is to get her as close to baseline as possible, improving mobility to her left side again. She was in rehab for a short amount of time and will now be coming back home.

The funds will be used to purchase Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy exercise equipment for extensive home rehab that insurance does not cover as well as future outpatient therapy.  With the help of her daughters and close family members we will be using this equipment in hopes she could walk, talk and eat again.
