Lourdes and her family's life changed in an instant in February 2025. She was on her way to work when she was pulled over by ICE as she entered her workplace. Scared and confused about what was happening, she was handcuffed and taken into custody.

For over a year now, Lourdes has been held in Louisiana while her husband and three young children desperately miss her and struggle financially and emotionally. Over the past year, her husband, Gedeon, has used all their savings to pay $26,000 in legal fees to fight to bring Lourdes back home to Baltimore, where she has lived since 2013, with her family. Lourdes’ case is currently going to appeal, as she is determined to do everything she can to get back to her family.
