Help Louisette Rebuild Stability After the LA Fires

The devastating fires in Los Angeles have left countless families in unimaginable situations, including our dear friend and colleague, Louisette Geiss. While Louisette's home is currently still standing, for now, her family faces significant challenges that require urgent support. She is the sole supporter of her family and she needs our help.

Louisette’s Reality:

• Her home is inaccessible due to the mass destruction of nearby areas. Spot fires/looters in her immediate neighborhood are still ongoing. The surrounding infrastructure—there’s no electricity, gas, or water, and air quality, as noted by experts, is not habitable and there is no access. The area won’t be livable for months, to a year, at best. These issues have likely made her home unsafe for her family, including her two young children, her elderly father, and her three beloved dogs, for many months to come

• She has been staying with generous friends, moving from place to place so as not be too overwhelming to her friends with such big hearts, but now she needs to find stable housing for herself, her family, and her pets.

A Difficult Road Ahead:

Louisette is a dedicated professional and her career is deeply tied to the real estate industry which is extremely hard hit by this unprecedented disaster. In addition, to make ends meet, Louisette as a single mom, took on the additional job of renting out a part of her home. She has now lost her rental income as well.

Many of her clients are also her friends and neighbors—families who have tragically lost their homes. Louisette’s heart aches for them, and she is incredibly sensitive to their plight. The fires have significantly impacted her livelihood and she is trying to prioritize getting some stability while caring for her family and navigating this uncertain time.

Empathy for Her Community:

Louisette deeply empathizes with her friends, neighbors, and clients who have lost everything. She has herself donated to those still helping put out fires, etc. She is a giver. While she is grateful that her home still stands, she acknowledges the tremendous pain and loss so many are enduring. She hesitated to ask for help, but the reality of her situation has made it clear that she needs support to care for her family and rebuild stability during this difficult time.

Learning to Accept Help:

Louisette is known for her generosity and has always been the first to offer help to others. It is only through the urging of her friends that we have created this campaign for her, as she navigates the life lesson of learning to graciously receive support too.

How You Can Help:

We are asking for your generosity to help Louisette and her family cover their immediate needs. Your donations will go directly toward:

• Temporary housing

• Medical expenses and medications: Louisette is a type1 diabetic & lost medication during this time due to power outages not keeping meds cool enough, etc.

• Essential & basic needs for her children, father, and pets. Louisette left the house with only the clothes on her/ her family’s back. They have nothing.

• Supporting her livelihood as she works to rebuild her neighborhood and her real estate community
