Help Louise Overcome Cancer and Financial Strain

Please help Louise (aka Weezie) with her battle with cancer. Almost 7 months ago, our good friend Weezie was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She started chemotherapy in January. Unfortunately, the first bout with chemo treatment didn't go well. She was very sick and spent a week in the hospital. Because of this, the doctors decided to try immune therapy this time. The doctor said, "You'll be fine, you won't be sick!" Well, 3 days later, she was back in the hospital; they found a pulmonary edema. The next bout was immune therapy and, of course, 3 days later again, she was sick. Louise is lucky in that she has Medicare for most of her medical bills. But since she has not been able to work since January, bills have started to add up. Plus, it's been an extra long, cold winter; some bills like heating oil and plowing are extra high.

Louis is originally from Canada. She grew up in Montreal but has now been in Vermont for 35 years. Having taught skiing at Jay Peak, Sugar Bush, and now 24 years at Stowe. She taught for 19 years with Stowe and then moved to shuttle driving.

I have known Louise for many years. She is always happy and friendly with a big smile. It is killing me to see her suffer so much and have the added stress of rising costs to monthly bills.
