On Saturday night, after spending time with friends, Louis was unlocking his bike to head home when he was suddenly attacked from behind and violently mugged. The assault left him with serious injuries, and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he is now receiving care.
Many of you may know Louis as a friendly, hardworking barista here in Eugene. He’s someone who brings warmth and kindness to the people around him every day. Now, he’s facing a long and difficult road to recovery.
Louis has suffered multiple facial fractures and will need several surgeries in the coming weeks. Because of his injuries, he will be unable to work for some time, creating a significant financial strain as medical bills and everyday expenses begin to add up.
We’re raising funds to help support Louis during this incredibly challenging time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much. Thank you for keeping Louis in your thoughts and for supporting him on his journey to recovery.
I will also be setting up a Community Donation Account under Louis Bates Medical Donations at SELCO Community Credit Union if anyone would prefer to make donations that way as well.
