Dear family and friends,

It is with a sad heart that I am sharing this devastating news about my brother Louis. His life has been turned upside down by a recent diagnosis of mouth and throat cancer. He is battling a large squamous cell tumor, about the size of a baseball, along with painful lesions on his tongue. He has constant headaches and severe ear pain which are making even the simplest things, like eating and sleeping, almost unbearable. In a short time he has nearly lost 50lbs.

Louis lives in North Carolina with his sweet 17 year old dog, Sara, who he has nursed through her own cancer battles. Louis has always been

a driven and hard-working man. He started his own landscaping business back in 2009, working out of his garage. It has grown into a small-medium size business, having an office, 10 trucks, 18 employees, and it seemed like everything was on the right track. Then in 2023 his drive and energy were drained, seemed like it hit him overnight. Louis just chalked it up to burn out from 17 years of constant focus on his business, but this was different. 2 years of smoothies, herbal teas, and becoming vegan, had little or no effect in making him feel better. Then in November 2025 Louis woke up with a swollen tongue, he was barely able to swallow or open his mouth as his jaw felt tight and there was severe pain around his left ear. That was the moment he decided to make an appointment to see a doctor to find out what was going on. After several rounds of antibiotics, blood tests, a biopsy, and a CT scan, the tumor mentioned above was discovered.

The standard medical treatment recommended involves major surgery to remove the tumor and part of his tongue, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. After careful research and prayer, Louis has decided to pursue an alternative treatment: Autologous Immunotherapy at Oasis of Hope Clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. A two week treatment plan is estimated up to $45.000. A comparable clinic in the U.S. offers the same services at a cost ranging from $100.000 to $250.000. Neither clinic would be covered under insurance. Cost analysis has made the decision easy on where to get the treatment: now the hard part is coming up with the funds needed to get started.

This non-evasive approach was really his only option as the Surgical approach would leave too many questions, like if he would have full use of his tongue after surgery. After researching the effects of Radiation and Chemo, those options were set aside due to potential health risks.

At this time Louis is doing his best to manage his daily challenges and working toward securing the funds needed to begin treatment at the Oasis of Hope Clinic.
