Let's Help Louie get the Accessible Vehicle he Needs

Louie is one of the strongest little boys you will ever meet, and his mother, Tonya? Easily the strongest woman I’ve met and a beautiful small business friend of mine.

At just two years old, he and his family are already facing challenges most people will never experience in a lifetime. Louie lives with complex medical needs and severe epilepsy that require constant care, therapies, and frequent hospital visits.

Louie is deeply loved by his big brother AJ and by his mom, who has dedicated every moment of her life to making sure Louie receives the care and opportunities he deserves.

But this journey has not been easy.

Not long ago, Tonya lost her husband Anthony — Louie and AJ’s father, unexpectedly.

Since then, she has been navigating life as a widowed mother while continuing to advocate fiercely for both of her boys and the care Louie needs to experience life in his unique way.

Every day requires strength, determination, and an incredible amount of love.

The Challenge They’re Currently Facing

As Louie grows, one of the biggest obstacles the family now faces is transportation.

Louie relies on specialized medical equipment and a wheelchair for upright seating and mobility. Getting him to his many medical appointments, therapy sessions, and hospital visits requires transporting not only Louie, but also his wheelchair and additional medical equipment.

Right now, every trip means lifting Louie, lifting his wheelchair, loading equipment, and managing everything safely. While they have been managing the best they can, it is becoming increasingly difficult and physically unsafe for one parent to do this alone.

Without a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, even routine appointments can become overwhelming logistical challenges for a family who has already been through so much.

Why a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Matters

A wheelchair accessible vehicle would completely change what daily life looks like for Louie and his family.

It would allow Louie to safely travel to:

• Medical appointments

• Physical, occupational, and speech therapies

• Hospital visits

• Community activities

• Time outside the hospital and therapy rooms

It would also allow Tonya to safely transport Louie and his equipment without risking injury, unsafe lifting, or having her attention diverted when AJ accompanies them.

Simply put, it would give Louie greater access to the care and experiences that every child deserves, and give Tonya the peace of mind she truly deserves.

Our Goal

After researching the costs of purchasing a reliable vehicle and converting it to be wheelchair accessible, the estimated cost ranges between $55,000 and $70,000.

Our goal is to raise $30,000, with the hope of reaching $60,000, to help make this life-changing vehicle possible for sweet Louie and his family.
