If you've ever met Louie, you'll know he is a sassy, snuggly, and silly little guy. He's always up to something - trying to fit in boxes too small for his butt, licking the empty bowls of ice cream, or hiding behind the couch to sneak-attack his next victim (which happens to always be my dad). Unfortunately, Louie (who is only 5 years old!) started to have gastrointestinal signs a few months ago that didn't resolve with medications. Further imaging revealed he has a large abdominal mass that is causing him significant discomfort. I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but Louie needs emergency surgery in order to survive. Obviously, my family and I were not expecting this diagnosis. The location of the tumor is causing him pain, and my family is faced with a tough decision. Fortunately, it has been determined that the tumor is likely surgically resectable.
The estimated cost for emergency surgery is more than I can manage on my own. Louie, just like many pets you know, is a part of our family—he’s my parent’s constant companion and they are totally soul-bonded. He was rescued from a natural disaster relief program in Texas in 2021, and him and my parents have been inseparable ever since. This diagnosis is heartbreaking and overwhelming, but I feel he deserves a fighting chance. I want to do everything I can to give him comfort and care, and any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this—means more than I can put into words. All funds will go directly towards paying for the surgery to remove the tumor. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping Louie get the care he needs. <3 I love you!!
