Louie has been my companion since he was just two months old, rescued from the side of a busy road. Now seven, he’s grown into the sweetest and most playful cat I could ask for. Louie loves to play chase with me and his two cat siblings. He’s also a cuddler—on his own terms—and will curl up in the crook of my legs when I’m lying down. He truly is the best boy and an irreplaceable part of my life.
Last summer, I found a lump on Louie’s back left leg. After tests and two surgeries, he was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma. Despite our efforts, the cancer has returned, and the lab confirmed that clean margins couldn’t be achieved. Both my regular vet and an oncologist have recommended amputation as Louie’s best chance for a long, healthy life. Thankfully, recent chest X-rays showed the cancer hasn’t spread, so he’s a strong candidate for surgery. The funds raised will go directly toward the ultrasound, X-rays, and the amputation surgery he urgently needs.
This experience has been incredibly hard on me emotionally and financially. I’ve already put a lot into his previous surgeries and consultations, and the cost of this next round is overwhelming. The thought of losing Louie at such a young age is heartbreaking. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, means the world to me. It will help us get through this difficult time and give Louie the care he deserves, so we can look forward to many more happy years together.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting Louie’s fight.
