“Hello, I am Louay from Gaza. I am 19 years old. Before the war, my family and I were gathering on Friday because I was going to go on Saturday morning to register at a university and study a specialty related to technology. I was happy because I would depend on myself and study a specialty that I love, so Saturday morning came, October 7th. From here, the war broke out, and killing, destruction, devastation, and displacement began. My dream and hope for life ended when the war began, bombing every place in Gaza, and bombing universities. I decided to create a link for me and my family so that we could leave Gaza and live a safe life instead of death, hunger, and humiliation. The goal of the link is to get out of the middle. Dying, continuing to study, establishing a small project for me and my family, and starting a new life away from killing and conflicts, and I hope to help everyone”
What is needed:
“50,000, we are 8 people, and each person needs 5,000 dollars, meaning 5,000 x 8 = 40,000 dollars, leaving 10,000 dollars. Through this, we will take an apartment and establish a project to help the family in the future and also to buy many things, including clothes, meaning basic things. I do not want to become rich. Just what I need. I could have said 100,000, but I don’t need that amount. I only ask for what I need.”
How the money is getting to Louay:
Since GoFundMe does not support bank accounts in Gaza, the money will be initially transferred to my bank account. Then, I will send it to Louay via international money wire. They have a bank account in Gaza.

5/29 Update: After some research, we have decided to use Western Union to get the money to Louay. The Bank of Palestine is at risk of bankruptcy, so they will be withdrawing the money in cash.
We will most likely do this in increments of $5,000 to minimize risk & fees. The fee is $75 to send $5000 to the State of Palestine through Western Union.
10 transfers of $5000 with a $75 fee each adds and additional $750 to Louay’s goal. I will be adjusting the goal upward from $50,200 to $50,900 to account for the 3%($1500) GoFundMe fee & the WUnion fee ($750). That makes a total of $52,250 to account for fees and get Louay the total $50,000.
