Hi friends, my name is Lou, I am 21 years old and I suffer from Ehlers Danlos syndrome and comorbidities such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome, ME/CFS and gastroparesis. These conditions limit my mobility immensly as my joints are very unstable and I have severe fatigue and orthostatic intolerance. I rely heavily on my wheelchair in order to get around and attend university and doctors appointments. My current wheelchair is a secondhand chair and does not meet my needs as it is way too big for me, causing damage to my shoulders and limiting my ability to move around without help. I am currently saving up to buy a custom wheelchair, hopefully a Tilite Aero Z with a power assist, as I do not have a lot of strentgh and energy to manually push myself. Unfortunately the cost of a custom wheelchair is between 10'000 and 20'000 Canadian dollars, and my ability to set aside money is limited as I already pay for my specialized tube feeding formula.

Having a custom wheelchair will greatly improve my quality of life and allow me to continue my studies.
