Help Lou and his family with his final journey
Donation protected
Lou Michaels has been photographing his community for over 60 years. Born in Detroit, he worked around the nation until he settled in Saint Paul where he continued his craft of capturing the moment and making people smile “with the lens cap on.”
Lou has been active in many community and veterans groups including the St. Paul Winter Carnival, The Odd Fellows, The American Legion, and Jewish War Veterans of America, to name a few.
Lou’s health began to fail him in August of 2024. Shortly afterwards, he was hospitalized. He has been in hospitals or nursing homes since then until the middle of January when he decided he has had enough treatment and chose to return home to start his hospice. He will soon be moving to a hospice facility.
Needless to say, Lou has not been able to work in this time, and the bills are mounting.
We are asking you to support Lou in his final days and help give him a fitting funeral and help resolve the medical expenses he has incurred.
