My name is Lorrie, and I am reaching out for help so I can be with my daughter, Kaylee Brugman, who is just 25 years old. Kaylee’s journey has been incredibly difficult. She lost her dad to a blood clot that traveled to his brain, and now she faces a similar battle. Kaylee has been diagnosed with Von Willebrand’s disease, which means she is prone to developing blood clots. Over the past several months, she has struggled with blood clots in her legs and lungs, spending long stretches in the hospital and enduring repeated admissions as her condition worsened.
Recently, Kaylee’s situation became even more critical. She currently has two blood clots in her heart, and her heart is only working at 8%. Doctors have told us that she needs a heart transplant, and she is being transferred to San Francisco to receive specialized care. The uncertainty and fear are overwhelming, but I am determined to be by her side every step of the way. As her mom, I have already lost a son to suicide, and I cannot bear the thought of losing another child. This is the hardest thing I have ever faced, but I know I need to be strong for Kaylee.
The funds raised will help me travel to San Francisco and cover my basic needs while I am there supporting Kaylee through her heart transplant journey. Any help you can give—no matter how small—would mean so much to me and to Kaylee. Your support will help me be with my daughter when she needs me most. I am deeply grateful for any donations or prayers you can offer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us through this incredibly hard time.
