Hi, I’m Kate — Lori’s daughter-in-law. If you know Lori, you know how much she shows up for the people (and animals) she loves. Right now, she’s the one who needs a little extra support.
On March 18th, Lori took a hard fall after a sudden dizzy spell and broke her ankle in two places.
What we thought might be a quick fix turned into something much bigger. After waiting nearly three weeks just to get scheduled, she is finally set to have surgery on April 9th.
The recovery won’t be easy.
She will be completely unable to bear weight for at least 6 weeks, which means no walking, no driving, and very limited independence during that time.
Because of this, Lori has had to purchase essential mobility equipment out of pocket, including a wheelchair and a knee scooter, just to get through daily life.
On top of that, she has three dogs at home — including her 14-year-old fully blind dog who requires constant care and attention. With Lori now mostly immobile, she has had to bring in help just to make sure her dogs are cared for properly.
The financial impact has been overwhelming.
Between medical costs, equipment, and ongoing care needs, she has already depleted her savings trying to stay afloat through this.
We’re starting this GoFundMe to help Lori cover her expenses during recovery so she can focus on healing — not stressing about how she’s going to get through the next several weeks.
If you’re able to give, it would mean more than you know.
And if you can’t, sharing this helps just as much.
Thank you for showing up for Lori during a really difficult season. ❤️
