Help Lorraine & Lyle Taylor rebuild after fire

Hi, my name is Lorena Dickson. I'm fundraising on behalf of my mom Lorraine and my stepdad Lyle who lost everything, including their beloved lakefront home on Monte Lake on August 5th, 2021 from the White Rock Lake Fire. They were lucky to flee to Kamloops with their two dogs but everything else they owned was destroyed in the wildfire. The BC Wildfire Service could not send aircraft to support the fight against this fire as the smoke was too thick to fly. My family was left to try and save their property on their own. Lyle had set up his own irrigation sprinkler system throughout the exterior of the home and property. The winds changed directions and this massive fire jumped across Hwy 97. Their home and property was right in its path and were destroyed.

They built their home in 1994. It was small and modest but had beautiful views along Monte Lake. My mom had the most beautiful and elaborate garden with fruit trees and veggies that was a main source of food throughout the year. Lyle is a handyman who had a garage full of unique and irreplaceable tools and equipment. Including a vintage 1965 Cushman scooter and their two motorcycles. They love Monte Lake and have called it home for 31 years. They couldn't imagine living anywhere else. They're retired and live a modest and simple life on the lake with only their old age security pension. We just want to help them rebuild on the land they love so much.
