Hello all, my name is Lorin and I am a 27 year old transwoman struggling severely with medical costs after being kicked off Medi-Cal and Calfresh. I am chronically ill and recently had an emergency appendectomy, and more recently COVID which made me miss a week of work, aside from trying to continue paying for my transition-related care and prescriptions, and for future gender-affirming surgeries. I am working a minimum wage job at a thrift store currently, but this is barely enough to cover rent, utilities, and other monthly expenses, and so I am hoping for any help at all during this difficult period. I have never asked anyone outside of my mother for money in my life, and I would not be here if I felt like I was in a safe or secure position, but I am very concerned that I am going to be unable to afford just rent soon due to this situation.
