Hello everyone! My name is Riley Largent and I created this GoFundMe page because my uncle Lorin Hawley can really use our help!

Lorin used to be an avid bicyclist and trail runner, but has had to give up most of his activities because of progressive nerve damage to his spine. He has pain, weakness, weight loss, poor balance, and coordination problems that interfere with walking and mobility.

He needs cervical spine surgery in the first week of September, but cannot afford the insurance deductible and co-payments for this procedure. He also needs help with living expenses during surgery and recovery, because medical bills have left him in debt but with no resources and a limited income from social security and odd jobs.

He needs $1,700 for medical costs, as well as whatever else people can contribute to help him with living expenses while he recovers. That’s why we are listing the amount needed as “$1,700 minimum.”

Lorin, who lives alone with his cat Mimi, is a very talented musician, freelance writer, and a cancer survivor; having this surgery will help him get his life back!
