Help Lori (Pullis) Rummel and family with medical expenses
Donation protected
Hello,
Our names are Laura and Haley. We are raising money for our dear friend Lori (Pullis) Rummel, her husband Steve, and their son Skyler. Laura and I have known Lori for many years and love her very much. We just want to help her and her family during this incredibly difficult time. We know many of you know the Rummels from the years they lived in Sussex County and in Dingman's Ferry. We know they are loved by a lot of people and we hope you will help if you are able.
Lori and her son Skyler both suffer from mitochondrial disease - a debilitating illness that affects how mitochondria in your cells produce energy, which can cause very negative effects on practically every part of the body. Lori and Skyler suffer from loss of eyesight and seizures, and have both had strokes. Skyler’s stroke left him needing to relearn almost everything, and Lori’s strokes have had lasting physical effects. To take care of his family the way they need, Steve has had to become Lori and Skyler’s caregiver and has not been able to work. If you know Lori, you know she is tough as nails, sunshiny, sweet, and always has a sense of humor, but this disease has really taken its toll on them all physically, emotionally, and financially.

Lori is in the hospital yet again, due to complications upon complications that her doctors are working hard to understand and interpret. Skyler is always strong for his parents (Steve describes Skyler as "his rock"), but just last night, the stress of seeing his mom in so much pain caused him to have another seizure as well. Our hearts are breaking for Lori and her family.
Now, you can imagine how a disease that causes so many complications leads to many unexpected emergency hospital visits and bills. As a result, Lori, Steve, and Skyler find themselves now in a very precarious financial situation. Steve fears he cannot pay bills which will keep a roof over their heads. I know Steve wishes he didn't have to ask, but the Rummels need our help right now to stay housed, to pay medical bills, and to get through this heartbreaking time.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are able to donate, know any amount you can give has the potential to be life-changing for the Rummels and would mean the world to them.
Thank you so much for your support,
Haley and Laura
(on behalf of Steve, Skyler, and Lori)
