Help Lori recover after being scammed

Hi my name is Tahnia! I have set this up to help Lori recoup some of her loss.

Lori is a single mom who is currently attending school to get into nursing.

Lori needed a new place for her and her daughter as the ceiling in her current residence is falling in. She found an amazing little place and set out to rent it.

She signed a lease for this cute brick fron house which was just the blessing that Lori and her family needed.

Then the bad news . The man who claimed to own the property was a scam artist. He sadly got Lori for every cent she has. Deposit and rent for a grand total of $3200

Lori does not have an alternative home to live in and will be homeless shortly.

Lori is trying so hard to raise her family out of the situation they are in and the blows just keep coming.

I want to thank all of yinz who have been so supportive the past 24hrs

I'm still not ok but a little better so far

knowing I was supposed to move in this weekend..there's boxes everywhere in our house and it really blows..we were ready to start our new lives today :-( so monday morning i have to scramble to get our utilities taken care of and all the other bullshit

Now I have to start the process all over again but I can't because that was all I had plus with my car breaking down yesterday morning this has be devastating for all of us.

life can suck my right now

Everyone always say what *THEYD* do in any situation until it happens to you..how they would've known better...I thought I did too

I sent $3200, excited I wouldn't have to pay rent till january

First I'd like to apologize if I don't reply to you individually I'm really overwhelmed right now but I promise I'm not ignoring them or your DMs if I left you on read..I honestly just don't feel like having convos right now I hope yinz can understand

Second I've filed an IC3 report with the FBI, sent all my screenshots, downloads and receipts for everything,, been in contact with authorities and waiting for call backs which unfotunately take time so if you don't get any update its because I don't have one myself

Third...please don't think I'm looking for sympathy, pity or handouts this situation just really really sucks and I hope someone can take my experience and learn from it if they are ever in the same kind of predicament

I'm still really pissed at myself for letting it happen..I thought I was smarter than this but it did and all I can do pick up the pieces and move on but Id really love a hug and a long nap first
