Help Lori in her Fight Against Lung Cancer
Donation protected

Lori, also known as Mrs. Manfro, has touched countless lives teaching kindergarten at the Nellie Bennett School in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Her passion for her students is evidenced by how many children return to see her each year!
Unfortunately, in the summer of 2017, Lori was diagnosed with ALK gene mutation. This is an alteration of the lung cells’ DNA that causes these cells to grow abnormally and ultimately behave as cancer cells.
Lori has undergone various forms of treatment. She spent 2 long years receiving oral chemotherapy and earlier this year had additional chemotherapy and radiation treatments. These treatments caused excessive damage to her lungs. Consequently, she has been hospitalized with pneumonia more than five times in the last two months.
Lori and Kevin are the parents of two amazing and resilient children, Cole, 16 and Lily, 14. Kevin has been juggling the kids, work, and caring for Lori 24/7 when she’s not in the hospital. When she is in the hospital, it is even more challenging to visit Lori and drive the kids everywhere they need to be.
Lori and Kevin’s friends and community have helped in SO many ways: from meals to rides for the kids to gift cards and good wishes, the outpouring of love has been overwhelming. Unfortunately, Lori is now in the ICU awaiting an ambulance transfer to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City and her medical bills are piling up.
Any financial assistance you could offer to help offset some of the family’s expenses would be greatly appreciated.
