Help Lori Fight Colo-rectal Cancer

Hi, My name is Lori Pemper, I am trying to raise funds for myself to be able to continue with my chemotherapy treatments. As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with Stage 3B Colo-rectal cancer in April 2021. I had a successful surgery, low anterior resection, removing six inches of my colon and half of my rectum, 15 Lymph nodes of which two were positive for metastases. I had three months of chemotherapy and had to be scanned every three months to keep an eye on everything. Unfortunately, in December 2023, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Colo-rectal cancer to my lungs. I have shared only a small part of my journey on Facebook. I recently was told that I was posting "Self Pity Posts". My posts are not "Self Pity", but a way to share my journey and with hope that I can help others to learn more about Colon-rectal cancer. Learn and know the symptoms, see your doctor and GET YOUR COLONOSCOPY!!

While it is very difficult for me to ask for help, I have always been the one there to help others when asked and or needed. I am here today asking for donations to raise money for my rent/utilities and health/prescription insurances for the next three months. My income has run out and I am now having to make the choice to discontinue treatments and go back to work. I can't afford not to work with only being on social security income. I also do not want to give up the fight! I believe and pray that I will beat this! But I will not beat it without the aggressive treatments that I am scheduled for. I am so grateful for my doctors and the nurses who care for me. They are angels. Their kindness, patience, compassion and so much more makes getting my treatments just a bit more easy!

I have tried to work, but I struggle to function some days. The symptoms/side effects interfere with my daily routine to the point where I struggle to get through the day. Along with terrible fatigue and loss of energy, my bathroom habits dramatically change after receiving chemotherapy and impact my day to day life dramatically. Unfortunately, Colo-rectal cancer and or it's symptoms are not getting talked about because people are uncomfortable to talk about it and share just what I am sharing. Don't be like me, and think it can never happen to you!
