Help Lori & Louis Rebuild their Lives After Hurricane Milton

This GoFundMe is being set up to support my mom, Lori, and her husband, Louis, who tragically just lost everything on the first night of of Hurricane Milton. Before the hurricane even hit the west coast on Tuesday afternoon, a series of powerful tornadoes suddenly appeared, tearing through their neighborhood and destroyed their beloved new-to-them home.

Just as they were beginning to settle into their new life, these tornadoes devastated their house before the hurricane even made landfall. As recent transplants to the area, they hadn’t yet secured home insurance, leaving them in the heartbreaking position of having to start over without any coverage.

To make matters worse, they’ve been unable to find their beloved cat, Lilly, who has been their faithful companion for years.

Lori and Louis moved to Florida in June, fulfilling a lifelong dream to retire by the beach. After 30 years of dedicated teaching, my mom was excited to start a new chapter and had just started working at a charming local gift shop. Louis had lovingly renovated their small home, making it a cozy haven for their retirement, but now they’ve lost everything.

The money will be go to directly helping them establish housing, food, clothing, and other life essentials that have been taken away in this awful storm.
