Help Loretta in her battle with brain cancer
On May 8th of this year, Loretta was admitted to the ER after an MRI revealed a mass within her brain. Within the week, Loretta was in surgery to remove the tumor from her left parietal lobe. Although the surgery was successful in removing the majority of the tumor (98% to be exact). The official diagnosis was a Stage 4 Glioblastoma, which unfortunately is a very aggressive brain cancer. This cancer is considered the worst of the worst. Surgery itself will not remove the tumor within her brain and she will need to undergo further treatment to control the spread.
This particular brain tumor is rare, as only 12,000 people are diagnosed each year. Once diagnosed and the traditional treatment such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation has begun, a patient’s life expectancy can be unknown. Loretta is willing to do what it takes to fight for her life. She is 64 years young, has 2 adult children, 2 beautiful grandchildren, age 4 and 1, and a loving family. She knows how important it is to fight as hard as she can. Loretta is a fighter.
Unfortunately, surgery and ongoing treatment comes with a cost unbearable for most to handle during these trying times. Loretta and her husband, Dale, both retired a few years ago and the cost of treatment exceeds beyond what they planned for during this time of their lives.
We are looking for any donation to these medical expenses and ask that this GoFundMe be shared as much as possible. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
If anyone has any information for other treatment options, we would be beyond grateful to hear about them. Loretta understands that time is the most important gift and she is hoping to get more of it. Thank you all for your love, support and prayers.
