ITA: Mi chiamo Lorenzo e ho avviato questa campagna GoFund perché sono appena stato ammesso al prestigioso conservatorio Drama Studio nel Regno Unito. Non avendo trovato corsi Italiani seri/in linea con le mie esigenze, ho pensato che l’opzione migliore fosse concentrarsi sul Regno Unito il quale vanta molti conservatori di fama internazionale. Tuttavia, post-Brexit, molte forme di sostegno economico/borse di studio non vengono erogate per cittadini UE.

È da quando sono bambino che sogno di diventare un attore di successo e, fin dai tempi delle elementari, ho partecipato ad ogni produzione teatrale offerta dalla mia scuola.

Sono madre-lingua in Italiano e Inglese e ho sempre tentato di dare il massimo nei miei studi per potermi garantire un buon futuro. I miei genitori hanno fatto molti sacrifici per permettermi di inseguire i miei sogni ma, dopo la morte di mio padre, mi sono ritrovato non solo a prendermi cura di me stesso ma anche ad aiutare i miei familiari. E anche se sono grato di poter essere utile a qualcuno, questo non mi permette di mettere da parte i soldi per tornare a recitare. Attualmente faccio diversi lavori, ma essendo tutti part-time arrivare a fine mese è una fatica.

Per molto tempo ho pensato che il mio sogno di diventare un'artista fosse solo un hobby o qualcosa che non meritavo di inseguire, ma negli ultimi cinque anni in cui ho dovuto accantonare il mio sogno, ho capito l'enorme prezzo che avrei dovuto pagare se non avessi seguito la strada che Dio ha tracciato per me. Cerco di dedicarmi alla mia arte da quando avevo 9 anni e, anche se molto dipende da me, ho toccato con mano l'aiuto inestimabile che gli altri possono fornire.

Ho ricevuto così tanta gentilezza nella mia vita ed è con grande umiltà che mi metto in gioco e chiedo il Vostro aiuto nel dare una svolta decisiva alla mia vita. Per finanziare questo mio sogno mi sono venduto vestiti e gioelli perché credo in quello che faccio e sono disposto a mettermi in gioco, quindi la raccolta fondi GoFund mi servirà per coprire il deposito iniziale e la retta scolastica.

ENG: My name is Lorenzo and I have started this GoFund campaign because I was just accepted at the prestigious Drama Studio London in the United Kingdom. I am not applying to programs in Italy because they were not in line with what I am looking for at this point in my life. Unfortuantely though, the UK does not offer any scholarships, grants, or financial aid for non-UK citizens.

Ever since I was a little boy, I dreamed of becoming a successful actor working in the movies and television and, ever since I was in elementary school I participated in every school production available.

I speak three languages and have always worked hard to excel in my studies so as to guarantee myself a bright future. My parents sacrificed a lot for me to pursue my dreams but, after my dad passed away from cancer, I have found myself not only trying to take care of myself and my future, I am also helping family members in need. And while I am grateful to be of use, it does not enable me to put money aside to return to the stage. I currently work multiple jobs but because they're all part-time it's a struggle to get to the end of the month. Plus, there is nothing worse than pursuing a career that does NOT fullfill you. I also suffer from mental health issues, which have made it significantly harder for me to even muster up the courage to try to get my acting career started.

For a long time, I thought my dream of becoming a performer was just a hobby or something I was not worthy of pursuing, but in the last five years where I had to put away my dream, I realized the sheer price I will have to pay if I don't follow the path that God has laid out for me. I have been trying to work on my craft ever since I was 9 years old and, even though a lot of it depends on me, I have touched first hand the invaluable help others can give.

I have received so much kindness in my life, and it is with great humility that I lay myself on the line and ask for your help in getting me one step closer to turning my life around and making something out of myself. This GoFund would cover the initial deposit I will have to make to secure my spot at the school.
