My name is Lorena, and for most of my life, I've dedicated myself to helping others—especially the elderly. As a single woman with two grown sons, I've made many sacrifices to give them the best start in life. I don't have much family, but I've always tried to be a source of support and positivity for those around me.
When I was just 13, I had a terrible bicycle accident that broke several of my front teeth and caused a lot of pain. My foster mother did everything she could to help, and I was able to get a dental bridge. It was only supposed to last 15 years, but with careful care, I made it last 25. Now, though, my teeth are badly broken and decaying, and the bridge is barely holding on. For the past year, I've been unable to afford the dental care I need, and the infections have sent me to the emergency room more than once. It's exhausting and discouraging, and it's starting to take a toll on my health and spirit.
I'm reaching out because I believe in the power of kindness and community. I hope that someone out there will want to help a stranger smile again. Your support would not only restore my health and confidence, but also remind me—and others—that love is powerful, and a simple smile can make a world of difference.
