Hi friends, family, and community,
I am reaching out to ask for your support for Lorena Elizabeth Serrano, a loving mother and street vendor, who has been through unimaginable hardship during what should have been one of the most joyful times of her life.
Lorena was taken by ICE back in June when she was only a couple of months pregnant. She spent most of her pregnancy in an immigration detention center, enduring horrific conditions instead of enjoying prenatal visits, baby showers, and precious moments with her family.
Recently, Lorena was released. She is now eight months pregnant, reunited with her husband and children, and for now, she will be able to give birth in a hospital instead of a detention facility. However, she still faces the threat of deportation.
This journey has left Lorena and her family under an overwhelming financial burden. While she was detained, her husband had to continue working, and their children were cared for by her mother. The family had to move in with relatives just to stay afloat.
Despite all of this, Lorena remains hopeful and positive. She is praying for a miracle and is determined to create a safe, loving environment for her children and her soon-to-be-born baby.
How your donation will help:
• Baby essentials (clothes, diapers, formula, crib, stroller, etc.)
• Support for her other children who are adjusting after this painful separation
• Legal assistance to help Lorena fight her case and remain with her family
Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference. If you can’t donate, please share Lorena’s story so that more people can stand with her during this time.
Lorena deserves to welcome her baby into the world surrounded by love, not fear. With your support, she can rebuild her life, provide for her children, and continue being the resilient, hardworking mother that she is.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and solidarity.
Together we can give Lorena and her family hope.
