Tera is raising this fundraiser for Loren, their brother, after a devastating house fire changed their family forever. Loren, who lived in Shaverstown, PA and worked at Harvest restaurant and wine bar in Moosic, PA, lost everything in the fire. In order to escape, Loren had to jump from a second-story window, suffering fractures to his pelvis, sacrum, and foot. Even while trying to save himself, Loren was thinking of others. He tried to wake his brother, Steve, and heard Steve respond, but Steve was unable to make it out of the house and tragically passed away from smoke inhalation. Loren and Steve were best friends, and this loss has left Loren and the entire family heartbroken.
As if this tragedy were not enough, the family had also just lost their mom suddenly on Mother’s Day, making this another unimaginable loss to endure so close together. Loren has already undergone surgery for his injuries and is facing a long road ahead. Because he did not have health insurance, the medical bills are already overwhelming. On top of that, he now needs help finding a new place to live and replacing the basic things he lost in the fire. The family is also carrying the burden of funeral expenses for Steve, who had no life insurance or savings. Any support means so much.
