For 15 years, my dad, Loren Durst, has bravely battled bladder cancer. Five years ago, the cancer spread to his lungs, and six months ago, it metastasized to his liver. Just a month ago, doctors found several tumors in his brain. Through it all, he has undergone both chemotherapy and radiation, which have taken a toll on his body. The treatments have caused neuropathy in his legs and arms, left him very weak, and made his vision blurry. Despite these challenges, my dad continues to fight every day, showing incredible strength and resilience.
To help him maintain a better quality of life and safer mobility, we are seeking support to install a handicap walk-in shower and a ramp for my parents home. These updates will make it easier for him to move around safely and reduce the risk of falls, especially as he travels to and from his many treatment appointments and doctor visits. The costs of these necessary changes, combined with ongoing medical bills, have become overwhelming for our family.
For anyone who knows my dad, Loren Durst, you know he is a caring, strong, and proud man. He is always the first to help a friend in need, the first to support his children, and the most loving grandfather anyone could ask for. Now, we are asking for your help to support my mom and dad during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping them create a safer, more comfortable home as my dad continues his fight. Thank you for your kindness and support.
