It pains me to ask for help like this but my fiancé and I are left with broken hearts and no other options. 2 weeks ago we found an aggressive fibrosarcoma on our baby Looney’s back leg at only 1 year old. It grew big and fast in less than a month from when she last had her annual vet visit at my work. We immediately scheduled for surgery with oncology specialists to amputate, praying we weren’t too late, and that it hadn’t spread. The CT scans revealed no signs of metastasis into major organs, leaving her team confident they could remove most of it by amputation, but that she would still need radiation therapy afterward to prevent regrowth. I’m only a vet assistant working through vet nursing school and the discounts we receive for working in the field barely make a difference. We’ve maxed out our care credit card and other credit cards to afford just the CT scan, amputation surgery, and biopsy, only to find out that the radiation treatment will cost another $12,000. We can’t imagine loosing our little girl and seeing the depression her mom, dad, and sisters would go through without her. They are all so bonded being littermates with their parents. We’ve had her since the day she was born and love her more than words can say. 1 year isn’t enough time with her. Please help us save our baby.
