Dear Friends, Supporters, and the Agricultural Community,
On Sunday, February 10th, 2025, Lonlon Farms suffered a devastating fire hazard. A group of young hunters, recklessly setting fire to the land, destroyed our one and a quarter-acre pineapple farm—a project we started in 2022 with the vision of promoting sustainable, organic farming in Sierra Leone.
The fire did not just take our pineapples; it also caused severe losses to our infrastructure, essential farming systems, and future harvests. Among the damages:
$2,000+ worth of pineapples lost
A full roll of 2.5mm electrical cables, crucial for our water system
Underground irrigation pipes, burnt and melted
Two camping tents, used for farm-based education and eco-tourism
A passion fruit patch and over 150 young fruit trees (guava, oranges, lime, avocado, etc.)
Urgent Need: $2,500 to Restore Our Water System!
Right now, our biggest challenge is restoring our water system, which is vital for keeping the remaining crops and livestock alive. Without immediate repairs, we risk further losses.
We are reaching out to our community to raise $4,500—
✅ $2,000 to recover the lost pineapples and trees
✅ $2,500 to replace cables, pipes, and essential irrigation parts
Why Lonlon Farms Matters
Lonlon Farms is more than just a farm. We are an organic demonstration farm dedicated to:

This fire has been a major setback, but with your support, we can rebuild and continue our mission.
