UPDATE 1.13
We are overwhelmed with the support our communities have shown us to assist the families we are connected with. Our original goal of 25K has been met in less than 24 hours (!!!), which will cover January expenses for our families, plus retroactive unpaid bills from November and December when Operation MetroSurge began.
We are increasing our goal to be able to plan to:
- Support February expenses for these families and/or
- Connect with more families in the Longfellow area who are in need of immediate and direct assistance.
If we end up with any leftover funds, they will be carefully and directly distributed to other needs in our Longfellow North community. We will keep you updated should this occur.

We are a small group of Longfellow neighbors, and we have created this fund to administer individual support to meet the urgent needs of families in crisis. We are asking for your donations to meet the following:
- Rent + utilities support
- Purchasing and delivering groceries and essentials
- Healthcare access and services
- Transportation services
- Legal support services
For the sake of privacy and safety, these families must remain anonymous. We are connected with five families and these funds will go directly to supporting their needs. If you would like updates or confirmations of what your donation has generally gone toward, we can share them with you privately.
We believe that hyper-local action is a powerful way to support those in need right now, and we are starting right where we live. Your financial support, no matter where you live, is saving lives of people that we know, love, and will fight to protect.
