Help Lolo’s COVID Battle
This is something my sis and I never imagined having to write in our lives and it feels unreal but our Lolo has been diagnosed with COVID.
Not many may know but we grew up in the Philippines. My Lolo took my mom and us in for the first 7-8 years of our lives before we moved to the States. Growing up in a “Village” taught my sister and I a lot about how to help others and we’re thankful for my Tito, Tita’s and especially my Lolo for helping my mom raise my sister and I.
My Lolo is tough as nails, a proud Filipino man and will do anything to make sure his family is protected and loved. We’ve never seen him in pain or weak. In our eyes he was a superhero, nothing can hurt or bring him down. He’s a fighter. A Warrior. A Survivor.
Until now... He’s fighting the biggest battle of his life... COVID. It’s so hard to see him intubated, sedated, hooked to a ventilator and helpless. What’s worse is that we’re halfway across the world. Our only contact is thru video calls with Viber.
Thankful for the medical professionals at St. Luke’s in Quezon city that take the time to update us and give us time to video call in so we can see him.
Thankful for our Tita Pam for staying strong for all of us here in the States and staying by his side until he went into Critical Care Unit. His oxygen level, heart rate and blood pressure are up and down. He has had 4 treatments for hemoperfusion, along with dialysis. COVID has damaged his heart, lungs, and kidneys. They started providing medication to treat COVID, but he’s still got a lot to fight through.
As difficult as it is to write this, on behalf of our family we’re asking for your help, your support. A small donation or sharing this Gofund me page within your family and friends and keeping him in your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

We hope that we can also help spread awareness of how dangerous and serious this virus is.
