Lolita Moore was hit in a hit-and-run while crossing the street at 1960 and Cypress after falling due to an ankle injury. She was left unconscious with life-threatening injuries and is now fighting for her life.
She has a traumatic brain injury with bleeding and swelling, along with multiple severe neck dislocations. Right now, her head is essentially not connected to her spine and is only being stabilized by a neck brace an extremely rare and critical condition. She may also have spinal damage requiring high-risk surgery on her upper vertebrae to help prevent a stroke.
Lolita is takes breathes but remains very weak. She will need a feeding tube, blood thinners, and a halo device for stabilization along with a tracheostomy. There are still serious risks ahead, including infection, blood transfusions and further complications.
Her recovery will be long and will include rehabilitation and possible time in a nursing facility.
She is a loving mother to two daughters, ages 19 and 12, who need her.
We are asking for support to help with her medical care and to support her children during this difficult time. Any donations, shares, or prayers are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
