Help Lola Walk Again: Surgery Needed After Dog Attack

Help Lola Walk Again
My name is Alyssa, and I’m reaching out with an urgent plea for my sweet 9-year-old Yorkie mix, Lola. A sudden, brutal attack by a much larger dog has left her with a severe dislocation, unable to walk without pain, and now in a splint. Without life-changing surgery (pantarsal arthrodesis), she may never fully heal.
Lola is more than just a pet—she’s my soulmate. I rescued her in November 2016 when she was abandoned in a box on my doorstep, matted and neglected. I can’t imagine my life without her. She’s been my constant companion, my lifeline—and now, she needs me to fight for her.
The attack was terrifying. A micro bulldog broke loose, lunged at Lola, and clamped down. My partner, Nicholas, pried the dog’s jaws open, saving her life but suffering deep hand injuries himself. The owners of the attacking dog have since vanished—ignoring all attempts to contact them and leaving us solely responsible for Lola’s medical crisis.
Since the attack, we’ve spent over $800 on emergency vet visits, X-rays, and bandage changes—but the hardest part is still ahead. Lola needs $7,000 for her surgery. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Free Animal Doctor, we’ve raised $5,000—but we’re still $2,000 short. Time is critical. Without this procedure, Lola could face a lifetime of pain and limited mobility.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving Lola the pain-free life she deserves. If you can’t donate, sharing her story means the world to us. Thank you for helping my brave little girl walk again.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.
