Nick Lamson and the Tuesday Club Working Dog Group, is asking for help for one of our members, Lola Cavotta. Lola was attacked and badly injured by a friends dog. Knowing the long recovery ahead of her, we are asking for financial help for her as she will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time.

Lola would never have started something like this for herself. In fact, when the idea was first brought up, she was uncomfortable with it. But those of us who care about her also know that sometimes the hardest thing to do is let people help. So with a little convincing, she gave us permission.

Lola recently suffered a serious dog bite to the hand that required emergency medical care and an ambulance. The result was serveral wounds that had to be stitched up and a fracture. In addition to the medical expenses she is now facing, the injury has affected her ability to do what she does for a living — tattoos.

As a self-employed tattoo artist, there is no paid medical leave or paycheck that continues while she recovers. When Lola can’t tattoo, she can’t earn. She has already had to cancel a month worth of appointments and an entire tattoo event weekend, and may have to cancel even more.

Some of those clients may be rescheduled, but those rescheduled appointments take the place of new clients she otherwise could have booked. There are only so many hours she can physically tattoo once she is able to return.

There are also medical bills and other expenses still coming, and right now we simply don't know what the total financial impact of this will be.
That’s why we wanted to create this for her.

This isn't something Lola asked for. It's simply a way for the people who know her, have been tattooed by her, have attended one of her events, or just want to support her to help take some of the financial pressure off while she focuses on healing. There is absolutely no expectation that anyone donate. A kind message, sharing this fundraiser, or simply rooting for Lola means a lot too. For anyone who does want to help financially, every contribution will go toward helping Lola through the medical expenses and income lost as a result of this injury.

Thank you for loving her enough to help us convince her that it's okay to let people show up for her, too.
