My friend Carrie Stevens is facing a challenge with her lovely dog Lola.
Here's Carrie to tell her story:
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit to ask for help for my rescue dog, Lola. Since I rescued her in April 2023, Lola has been the light of my life, and I promised her a safe, healthy, and happy life.
Within the first 15 days of adopting her, we found a lump on her left wrist, which turned out to be a mast cell tumor. Thankfully, the lab rescue covered that initial treatment. However, the cancer battle didn't stop there. Later, Lola developed another mast cell tumor on her right armpit area. I paid for that surgical removal, which cost close to $2,000.
Since then, I have done everything in my power to keep her healthy, including putting her on a strict, high-quality, organic diet of beef and chicken stew with vegetables. She was doing wonderfully and seemed to have put the cancer behind her.
However, on March 13, 2026, disaster struck again.
Lola contracted a severe case of pneumonia. She is currently fighting for her life, and these expenses are piling up faster than I can manage. As of today, the bill has already reached over $4,500, which I had to put on a high-interest credit card to ensure she received immediate, life-saving care.
I am a dedicated pet parent, but these back-to-back, unexpected medical emergencies have exhausted my savings. I am asking for help to cover these emergency vet bills so I can focus on Lola’s recovery instead of the crippling debt.
Any amount—whether it is $5 or $50—will go directly toward Lola's pneumonia treatment, medications, and specialized care. If you are unable to donate, sharing this story means just as much.
Lola is a fighter, and she has so much more life to live. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us through this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Carrie Stevens
