Lola, a stray dog, was hit by a car in the middle of the night and left to die all alone. Since the neighbors knew that I feed her, they called me; I rushed over to pick her up and take her to the veterinarian. She had a broken leg and required surgery. I sought help and managed to raise the funds needed for her operation, but now I face a new worry: she cannot return to the streets in her current condition, and there is no one available to care for her.
I am an independent rescuer, and I currently have many dogs under my care—I feed them on the streets, and I can only bring one into my home once another has been adopted out to a permanent rescue organization. For this reason, it is impossible for me to care for her myself right now. She is a 6-month-old baby who has already suffered far too much in her short life; abandonment and constant hunger on the streets are incredibly difficult burdens to bear. She has no safe place to rest at night—this is the sad reality for many dogs here in the RGV (Rio Grande Valley) in Texas. I try to help as much as I can, but it is impossible for me to help them all.
You can visit my Facebook page—Zulma Olguin—to see everything I do for them, my "strays." I would be deeply grateful for any assistance you can offer; I need to cover the costs of over a month of hospitalization for Lola. With my heart in my hands, I beg you for your help. Thank you so very much.
